Police Hunt Two Suspects After Six People Assaulted in Carlisle Park
Police are appealing for information following an incident in Carlisle in which six people were reportedly assaulted by two males in a city park.
The incident took place in Bitts Park at approximately 4pm on May 24, according to investigators. A group consisting of six men and women was allegedly attacked, resulting in injuries described as being at the level of actual bodily harm.
Officers have released descriptions of two individuals they wish to identify as part of their inquiries. The first suspect is described as a black male, around 5ft 8in tall, of larger build, and believed to be about 16 years old. He was reportedly wearing a black Nike tracksuit with the hood raised.
The second suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 11in tall, with a slim build, blond hair and facial blemishes. He was reportedly shirtless and wearing black shorts at the time of the incident.
Police said the pair were later joined by a group of around five additional males. Members of the public are understood to have intervened and assisted the victims during the disturbance.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, captured footage, or has information that could assist inquiries to come forward. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Cumbria Police, quoting incident number 200 of May 24, 2026.
