Police Drone Tracks Down Illegal Motorbike on Nature Reserve
Police in Barrow have seized a motorbike following reports of reckless riding on a protected nature reserve in South Cumbria.
The incident took place at South Walney Nature Reserve, where officers received complaints about a motorbike being ridden dangerously on Sunday. In response, the neighbourhood policing team deployed a drone to monitor the situation from the air.
Using the drone, officers were able to locate both the rider and the vehicle. Police confirmed that the motorbike was subsequently seized.
Authorities have reiterated concerns about illegal and unsafe vehicle use in environmentally sensitive areas, warning that such behaviour can pose risks to wildlife, visitors, and the landscape.
