Murder Investigation Launched After Woman Found Dead In Carlisle
Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman in her sixties was found dead at a property in Carlisle on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to a property on Whinlatter Way in the Caldewgate area of Carlisle at around 11.23pm on Sunday, August 2, following reports of a sudden death. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody while detectives continue their enquiries. Officers have not released the identities of either the deceased woman or the arrested man.
