Man Banned from West Cumbrian Shops – Including Greggs – for Two Years
A man from West Cumbria has been banned from entering a range of shops and supermarkets across the area for two years after being issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) by the courts.
The order was imposed following a court appearance where the individual pleaded guilty to breaching a previous order and committing theft from a retail store in Whitehaven.
Under the terms of the new CBO, he is prohibited from entering several premises across West Cumbria, including shops that are part of local Stopwatch schemes as well as specific retailers.
These restrictions include a branch of Greggs in Egremont, along with other named stores in the area. The order is designed to prevent further offending and protect local businesses from repeated incidents.
Court officials confirmed that the man had previously been subject to restrictions but continued to breach them, leading to the stricter two-year ban.
He was also given additional penalties by the court, including a rehabilitation requirement and a financial penalty, as part of his sentencing.
Authorities have warned that anyone found breaking the terms of the order could face further prosecution and potentially a prison sentence.
The Criminal Behaviour Order will remain in force for two years, during which time the individual must avoid all specified premises and comply fully with the restrictions imposed by the court.
