Man Arrested After E-Bike Police Chase in Carlisle

A man has been arrested following a police pursuit involving an e-bike rider in the city of Carlisle.

Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team, supported by specialist units, stopped the individual in the Currock area after a brief chase. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by police.

The 34-year-old was taken into custody, and subsequent searches led officers to recover a significant amount of cash along with suspected illegal drugs.

Police also confirmed that the e-bike used during the incident has been seized and will be destroyed.

Authorities have not released further details at this stage, but investigations into the incident are ongoing.
