Inquest opened into death of two-year old Carlisle toddler
An inquest has officially been opened into the death of a two-year-old toddler from Carlisle, following concerns surrounding the circumstances of his passing.
The child was taken to hospital after becoming unwell at a home in Carlisle. Despite receiving medical attention, he sadly died in hospital. Emergency services had been called after reports that the child was seriously unwell.
Police have confirmed that the death is currently being treated as unexplained, although they have also stated that there are no suspicious circumstances at this stage. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full facts surrounding what happened.
The inquest was opened at a coroner’s court as part of standard legal procedure following sudden or unexplained deaths. Further hearings are expected once more evidence and medical reports are reviewed.
Authorities have not released further personal details in respect of the family.
