Barrow Father and Son Jailed for Almost Eight Years Over Cocaine and Cannabis Supply
A father and son from Barrow have been sentenced to almost eight years in prison after police uncovered cocaine and cannabis during a property search.
Jaydon Morgan, 20, and Simon Morgan, 43, both of Greengate Street, Barrow, appeared at Preston Crown Court on 3 November. Jaydon received a sentence of three years and four months, while Simon was jailed for four years and six months. Their combined prison terms total seven years and ten months.
Jaydon Morgan was convicted of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and possession of Class B drugs. His father, Simon Morgan, was sentenced for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
The case followed a police warrant executed at the men's address on 11 February 2026. Officers searching the property discovered Class A and Class B drugs, alongside approximately £3,280 in cash. The substances were subsequently confirmed to be cocaine and cannabis.
A drugs expert estimated the street value of the seized substances at approximately £6,755. Police also confiscated two mobile phones belonging to the defendants as part of the investigation.
The investigation was led by detectives from Westmorland and Furness Community Serious and Organised Crime (CSOC) team. The operation formed part of Operation Alliance, Cumbria Constabulary's ongoing work to tackle serious and organised crime across the county.
A spokesperson for the CSOC unit said the sentences reflected the seriousness of the offences. The spokesperson added that proactive police work had uncovered evidence of the men's involvement in drug supply and brought them before the courts.
The spokesperson also warned that the supply of Class A drugs fuels crime and exploitation and causes significant harm within communities. The team said it remained committed to targeting those involved in the illegal drug trade and bringing offenders to justice.
Cumbria Constabulary continues to encourage residents to report suspected drug dealing and provide information that could assist investigations. Information can be passed to police online or by calling 101. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
