Armed Police Deployed in Carlisle After Stabbing Incident
Armed police were deployed in Carlisle during the early hours of Sunday following a reported stabbing incident, according to police.
Officers were called to an address on Edward Street at around 3:25am after receiving reports that a man in his 30s had suffered multiple suspected stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries were later confirmed to be non-life-threatening and he has since been discharged.
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the assault. Police carried out a series of operations across the city later in the day, including inquiries at several addresses, which led to the arrest.
Authorities said armed officers were deployed as a precaution due to the nature of the incident, and residents may have noticed an increased police presence in the area throughout Sunday.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
