Thousands of Riders Get Free M6 Toll Access for Massive Dave Day Motorcycle Convoy
Thousands of motorcycle riders taking part in this year’s Dave Day charity convoy will be able to travel through the M6 Toll free of charge as part of special arrangements announced for the major fundraising event.
The M6 Toll confirmed that more than 4,000 registered riders participating in Dave Day will receive free passage through toll plazas during the large scale motorcycle convoy heading toward Barrow in Furness. The event is held in memory of late Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers and continues to attract huge support from bikers across the UK.
Organisers say the decision aims to improve both safety and traffic flow as thousands of riders travel together through the Midlands on June 21. Special traffic management plans will also be introduced at the Great Wyrley toll plaza, where designated lanes will be used to help the convoy move smoothly through the area.
Dave Day has rapidly grown into one of the country’s biggest charity motorcycle events. Last year, tens of thousands of riders participated in fundraising activities supporting charities including NSPCC Childline and CancerCare. Organisers expect this year’s event to attract even larger crowds and raise significant funds for charitable causes.
M6 Toll representatives described the event as an important community occasion and said they were proud to support riders making the journey to Cumbria. Event organisers also praised the arrangement, saying it would improve the experience for participants while helping reduce congestion and delays along the route.
Alongside the convoy itself, the Dave Day weekend will include several public events and fundraising activities, including live entertainment, football matches, and community gatherings celebrating the life and legacy of Dave Myers.
The growing popularity of Dave Day highlights the strong connection between the motorcycle community and charitable fundraising efforts across the UK, with many riders describing the event as both a tribute and a celebration of community spirit.
