Students Invited to Design Official Tour de France Posters in Major Creative Competition

29 Apr 2026 Students Invited to Design Official Tour de France Posters in Major Creative Competition

Creative students across the UK have been invited to take part in a major competition to design the official posters for the 2027 Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.

The initiative forms part of the Grand Depart GB’s JOY social impact programme and is open to students studying art, design, graphics, photography, and other creative courses at further and higher education institutions in regions hosting stages of the race.

The winning designs will become the official posters for both events, which traditionally serve as key visual identities for each edition of the Tour de France. These posters are used globally in promotional campaigns, digital platforms, and event materials, reaching millions of people worldwide.

As part of the 2027 Grand Depart, Britain has been given the rare honour of designing the official posters, marking a significant moment for UK-based young artists. Organisers say the opportunity offers students a chance to showcase their talent on an international stage.

A panel of experts, including award-winning artist Lucy Pittaway, will judge the entries before shortlists are submitted to the Tour organisers, who will select the final winners. The successful students will also be invited to Paris for the official unveiling of their work during the race presentation.

The competition opens in May 2026 and will run for several weeks, with full details made available through official Grand Depart channels.

Organisers say the project aims to encourage creativity, celebrate local talent, and highlight the cultural significance of the Tour de France as one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
