Funding Available to Boost Arts and Culture Projects in Furness and Eden

12 May 2026 Funding Available to Boost Arts and Culture Projects in Furness and Eden

New funding opportunities are now available for arts and culture initiatives across Furness and Eden, with local organisations invited to apply for financial support to help deliver creative projects and community-based activities.

The funding, which forms part of wider efforts to strengthen cultural provision in Westmorland and Furness, is designed to support a range of initiatives including performances, exhibitions, workshops, festivals, and heritage-based projects.

The programme aims to encourage participation in the arts, increase access to cultural experiences, and support organisations that play a key role in enriching community life. It also seeks to strengthen collaboration between artists, voluntary groups, and cultural institutions across the region.

Funding is available to not-for-profit organisations, charities, community groups, and creative practitioners working in the arts, culture, and heritage sectors. Applicants are expected to demonstrate how their projects will benefit local communities, improve engagement, and contribute to the wider cultural landscape.

Officials say the scheme is particularly focused on supporting smaller organisations and grassroots initiatives that may not normally have access to larger funding streams. Priority will be given to projects that promote inclusivity, creativity, and long-term community impact.

The initiative builds on previous investment in the region’s cultural sector, which has seen funding distributed to a variety of arts organisations, festivals, and heritage projects aimed at increasing participation and supporting local talent.

Community leaders have encouraged eligible groups to apply, highlighting the importance of arts and culture in supporting wellbeing, education, tourism, and the local economy.

Further details on eligibility criteria and application deadlines are available through the Westmorland and Furness Council funding programmes.
