‘Extreme Weight Loss’ Star Brandi Mallory’s Cause of Death Confirmed in Autopsy
Mallory was found unresponsive in her car on November 9 in the parking lot of a Chipotle restaurant in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Authorities said there were no signs of foul play, and her death has been ruled natural.
The autopsy revealed that Mallory had an enlarged heart and early signs of diabetes. Investigators also found small amounts of marijuana and alcohol in her system, but officials confirmed these substances did not contribute to her death. She had no recent injuries.
Mallory rose to fame in 2014 during season four of ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss, where she inspired viewers by shedding 150 pounds and openly sharing her journey.
Following her death, friends and loved ones remembered her as a bright, energetic spirit who brought positivity everywhere she went. Close friend and fellow makeup artist Eva Jane told People that Mallory was “full of life,” “an eternal optimist,” and someone whose personality was “electric.”
At Mallory’s celebration of life, friends shared touching memories stories filled with both laughter and tears highlighting the joy she spread effortlessly. “She was always herself, authentic and pure,” Jane said. “When someone like Brandi leaves us, it’s hard to understand why.”
Mallory had picked up dinner at Chipotle before her passing. A local business owner, noticing her sitting in her car for an unusually long time, alerted authorities. Police later confirmed that her food had no connection to her death.
Brandi Mallory is remembered not only for her weight loss journey on national television but also for the warmth, motivation, and light she brought to the people around her.
