Lake District Hotels Association Appoints New Chair to Lead Regional Tourism Body
The Lake District Hotels Association has appointed Michael Coletta as its new chair, marking a leadership change for one of Cumbria’s key tourism and hospitality organisations.
Michael Coletta, who is managing director of Langdale Leisure Limited, takes over the role after previously serving in senior positions within the hospitality sector. He brings extensive experience in hotel operations and tourism management to the association.
The organisation represents around 50 independent and branded hotels, attractions and hospitality businesses across the Lake District and wider Cumbria region. It plays a significant role in supporting tourism, employment and local economic activity in the area.
The association works to promote collaboration between members, develop workforce skills, and strengthen the region’s visitor economy. It also focuses on improving guest experiences and supporting sustainable growth in the hospitality sector.
Outgoing chair Ben Mayou has stepped down after his period of leadership, during which the association continued to expand its engagement with local businesses and tourism partners.
The new appointment is expected to continue efforts to support the Lake District’s hospitality industry, which remains a major contributor to the regional economy and employment.
