Carlisle Pub Set To Close For Six-Figure Revamp.
A Carlisle pub is set to close temporarily while it undergoes a six-figure refurbishment aimed at giving the venue a refreshed interior and improved facilities for customers.
The Gosling Bridge Inn, on Kingstown Road, will close from September 28 and is expected to reopen in October. The work is being carried out as part of an investment by owners Greene King. The refurbishment will include modernising the pub's interior and providing additional seating. An upgraded darts area will also be created, with new television screens and sound systems designed to improve the experience for customers watching live sport.
The improvements are expected to give the venue a more modern setting while maintaining its role as a local pub serving customers in the Kingstown Road area. Another change will come when the pub reopens in October, with the venue planning to introduce earlier opening hours during the week.
From October, the Gosling Bridge Inn will open from 7am Monday to Friday and from 8am at weekends. The earlier opening times will support the introduction of a new breakfast menu.The investment comes as Greene King continues to update its pub estate, with refurbishment projects aimed at improving facilities and creating more flexible spaces for customers.

Customers will have to wait until the refurbishment is completed before returning, with the pub currently scheduled to close on September 28 and reopen the following month. The project represents a significant investment in the Carlisle venue and is expected to provide customers with a refreshed pub when it reopens in October.
