Barrow Pub Celebrates Being Featured In Good Beer Guide 2027
A Barrow pub has been recognised in the latest edition of the Good Beer Guide, with the local venue celebrating its inclusion in the 2027 guide.
The recognition is a notable achievement for the pub and its team, highlighting the importance of maintaining good beer quality and a welcoming atmosphere for customers in the local community. The Good Beer Guide 2027 is published by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and features more than 4,500 recommended pubs across the United Kingdom. The latest edition also includes information on around 1,700 breweries and 5,000 beers.
CAMRA says the guide is produced through an independent, volunteer-led selection process. Local CAMRA branches assess pubs using beer quality as the main consideration, while also taking account of factors such as the range of beers available and the overall standard of the venue.
For the Barrow pub, being included provides recognition for the work carried out by its team and offers another opportunity to attract attention from beer enthusiasts and visitors exploring Furness and South Cumbria.
The 2027 guide is the 54th edition and continues CAMRA’s long-running role in highlighting pubs where customers can find quality cask beer. The organisation says its volunteers regularly monitor beers served at pubs through its National Beer Scoring System.
CAMRA’s latest figures show that the new guide contains 812 new pub entries, while 137 breweries have closed and 57 have opened during the period covered by the publication. The guide’s foreword this year has been written by author Sir Ian Rankin, who also highlighted the importance of good beer, a friendly welcome and pubs that represent their local communities.
For Barrow, the inclusion gives the featured venue a chance to showcase its offering to a wider audience while celebrating its place within the town’s pub and hospitality scene. The Good Beer Guide 2027 is now available, giving real-ale enthusiasts another resource for discovering pubs and breweries across the UK.
