Carlisle Man Sentenced After Years of Abusive and Controlling Conduct

A Carlisle man has been sentenced to two years and ten months in prison after a court heard how he subjected a woman to years of coercive and controlling behaviour as well as carrying out a series of associated offences.
Daniel Lytollis, 35, of Graham Street, Carlisle, appeared before the court where he was found guilty of multiple offences, including coercive and controlling behaviour, criminal damage, and possession of offensive weapons and drugs.
During the incidents, Lytollis damaged property at the victim’s home, including repeatedly stabbing a doorbell camera and scratching a car with a knife. Police also discovered illegal drugs and weapons at his address following his arrest.
In addition to his prison sentence, Lytollis was banned from driving for 25 months and issued a five‑year restraining order to protect the victim.
Detective Constable Karen Minnion commented that the defendant had subjected the victim to threats and sustained controlling behaviour, including tracking her movements and forcing her to provide evidence of her whereabouts. Officers reiterated their commitment to supporting victims of domestic abuse and urged anyone affected by similar behaviour to come forward.
