Motorcyclist Taken to Hospital After Evening Crash in Lake District

02 May 2026 Motorcyclist Taken to Hospital After Evening Crash in Lake District

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a road traffic collision in the Lake District.

Emergency services were called to Glencoyne, near Glenridding, at around 7:45pm on Tuesday. The incident prompted a response from Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, who were requested to assist by the Northwest Ambulance Service.

Rescue teams worked alongside ambulance crews and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service to stabilise the injured biker at the scene. The casualty was then carried on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.

The operation lasted approximately two hours before the motorcyclist was transported to hospital for further treatment.

Shortly after the incident, the same mountain rescue team was called out again to assist a lone camper in the nearby Red Tarn area who had fallen ill. The individual was assessed and helped down the hill safely without requiring stretcher evacuation.

Authorities have not released further details about the condition of the injured motorcyclist.
