New Hyundai IONIQ 6 N Delivers High Performance Electric Driving

24 Oct 2026 New Hyundai IONIQ 6 N Delivers High Performance Electric Driving

Hyundai’s new IONIQ 6 N is attracting attention as a high-performance electric saloon designed to deliver thrilling acceleration while remaining practical for everyday driving.

The latest model builds on the success of the IONIQ 5 N, combining two electric motors, all-wheel drive and a range of advanced performance features. With its sleek design and sport-focused engineering, the IONIQ 6 N aims to appeal to drivers seeking excitement without moving away from electric motoring.

The vehicle produces up to 650 horsepowerin boost mode and can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in approximately 3.2 seconds. Its top speed reaches 160mph, placing it among the more powerful electric performance saloons currently available.

One of the car’s standout features is its simulated gear-shifting system, known as N e-Shift. Using steering-wheel paddles, drivers can experience simulated gear changes designed to make acceleration feel more engaging. A digitally generated engine sound system adds another layer to the driving experience.

Hyundai has also equipped the IONIQ 6 N with advanced suspension technology, an electronic limited-slip differential and adjustable torque distribution. These systems help improve handling, stability and cornering performance, while dedicated driving modes allow drivers to tailor the car to different road and track conditions.

Despite its performance-focused character, the IONIQ 6 N is designed to remain comfortable and composed on everyday journeys. Its spacious cabin, supportive sports seats and adjustable driving settings aim to balance high-speed capability with practical usability.

The car uses an 84kWh battery, with Hyundai quoting a driving range of up to approximately 291 miles on a full charge, depending on the specification and testing conditions. It also supports rapid charging, allowing the battery to recharge from 10 to 80 per cent in around 18 minutes under suitable conditions. Real-world range will vary according to driving style, weather and road conditions.

The UK starting price is £65,800, positioning the IONIQ 6 N in the premium electric performance market. Although its price and reduced range compared with some standard electric saloons may be considerations for buyers, its combination of speed, handling technology and everyday comfort gives it a distinctive position in the market.

With the IONIQ 6 N, Hyundai is continuing to demonstrate how electric vehicles can offer more than efficiency alone, delivering a driving experience that combines modern technology with performance-focused engineering.
