Rare Royal Mint Fifty Pence Coin Listed on eBay with £18,000 Price Tag

A rare Royal Mint fifty pence coin featuring Beatrix Potter’s beloved character Peter Rabbit has been listed for sale on eBay with an asking price of more than £18,000. The seller, based in County Durham in the United Kingdom, posted the listing online offering the coin for £18,086.70 or best offer.

Although millions of Peter Rabbit themed 50p coins were produced by The Royal Mint as part of a popular collectors series, certain versions have attracted growing interest among enthusiasts due to their condition or unique features. These commemorative coins are part of a broader Beatrix Potter collection that has become sought after by collectors worldwide.

Collectors say that coins in pristine condition or with special characteristics can draw much higher prices than their face value of fifty pence. The high asking price reflects increased demand for rare and collectible coins.
