Workington Family Given Further Court Injunctions Over Anti-Social Behaviour
Three members of a family in Workington have been handed further court injunctions after concerns about persistent anti-social behaviour and violence in the Westfield estate and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Stephen Weaver, 50, of Workington, has received an injunction lasting an additional 12 months. The order followed continued concerns about his behaviour after his original injunction, issued in 2025, expired.
Lauren Weaver, 29, was given a further injunction on 1 July 2026, which remains in place until 30 September 2027. The order followed her appearance in court after breaching the original injunction.
Reece Weaver, 27, received an additional 12-month injunction on 16 June 2026 after appearing in court for breaching his original order. He was also given a four-week custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months.
The injunctions impose restrictions intended to prevent behaviour that could cause harassment, alarm or distress. They also prohibit insulting language, threats of violence, conduct that causes others to fear harm and the direct use of force against another person.
The three individuals are also prohibited from being under the influence of alcohol or drugs in a public place and from having an open container of alcohol in a public place. Additional restrictions apply to Lauren and Reece, preventing conduct likely to cause nuisance or annoyance to residents and lawful visitors to the Westfield estate. They are also prohibited from entering private land or gardens without the occupier’s permission.
Police have stressed that behaviour causing fear, distress or harm within local communities will be addressed through enforcement and cooperation with partner organisations. The further injunctions form part of continuing efforts to improve residents’ safety and quality of life in the area.
Anyone who witnesses a possible breach of the injunctions is urged to contact Cumbria Police on 101 or submit a report through the force’s official website. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
