17 Oct 2026 Lake District Hotels Make Global Awards Shortlist as Voting Deadline Nears

Four hotels and hospitality venues across Cumbria are competing for recognition in the prestigious 2027 Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence.

The international awards celebrate outstanding standards within the luxury hospitality sector, with properties assessed on areas including guest service, facilities and the overall visitor experience. Guest feedback, online reviews and evaluations by industry experts all contribute to the awards process.

Among the Cumbrian finalists is Gilpin Hotel near Windermere, which has been shortlisted in the Best for Honeymoons category.

Farlam Hall, near Brampton, and Rothay Manor in Ambleside are both competing for the Best Destination Restaurant award, highlighting Cumbria's growing reputation for high quality dining.

Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake, has also secured a place on the shortlist and is competing in the Best Bar category.

The recognition puts some of Cumbria's best known hospitality businesses alongside luxury properties from across the wider industry and provides another opportunity to showcase the Lake District as a leading visitor destination.

Public voting remains open until Monday, October 19, giving supporters a final opportunity to back their favourite shortlisted venues.

The winners of the 2027 Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence are expected to be revealed during a gala dinner on Monday, November 2.
