Free Rugby Camp and Family Day Planned for Barrow Half Term

Children and families in Barrow are being encouraged to take part in half-term activities featuring rugby, sports and family-friendly entertainment.

The events are linked to community sports initiatives delivered by Advantage! Barrow Raiders Community Foundation, the charitable arm of Barrow Raiders Rugby League Football Club. The foundation works to improve health, wellbeing and community participation through sport and inclusive activities.

Its holiday camps offer children opportunities to learn rugby skills, take part in team games and try other activities, including football, athletics, dodgeball and creative sessions. The programme is designed to welcome children with different levels of sporting experience.

Advantage! also runs activities intended to help young people build confidence, develop teamwork and maintain an active lifestyle during school holidays. Some camp places may be available free to eligible children through the Holiday Activities and Food programme, subject to the applicable funding and eligibility conditions.

The family-focused activities form part of wider efforts to make sport more accessible and strengthen community connections across Barrow and the Furness area.
